School Overview

江苏省太仓中等专业学校(江苏联合职业技术学院太仓分院)是一所公办全日制中等职业学校,由太仓市人民政府举办,太仓市教育局主管,地处江海之通津,东方之巨港,融汇东西方文化的长三角港口城市——苏州太仓。学校简称为省太中专、太仓中专和江苏联院太仓分院。学校创建于1984年,前身为太仓工业学校,先后经历了1997年与江苏省太仓职业高级中学组建太仓职教集团,2002年与太仓市广播电视大学合署办公,2004年与太仓师范学校等组建健雄职业技术学院,职教中心暂停运作,同年学校获批江苏联合职业技术学院办学点;2006年中高职分离,健雄职业技术学院异地新建,高职计划归到健雄职业技术学院,江苏省太仓职教中心校恢复运作。2010年3月更名为江苏省太仓中等专业学校。2014年学校重新申报获批江苏联合职业技术学院办学点。2025年1月学校升级为江苏联合职业技术学院太仓分院。

Jiangsu Taicang Secondary Vocational School (Taicang Branch of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute) is a public full-time secondary vocational school organized by the People’s Government of Taicang City and administered by the Taicang Municipal Education Bureau. The school is located in Taicang, Suzhou, a port city in the Yangtze River Delta, which boasts a huge port in the East extending in all directions and integrating eastern and western cultures. Founded in 1984, the school was originally known as Taicang Industrial School. It underwent several transformations, including the formation of the Taicang Vocational Education Group in 1997 through a merger with Jiangsu Taicang Vocational Senior High School. In 2002, it merged with Taicang Radio and Television University, and in 2004, it joined forces with Taicang Normal School and other institutions to establish Chien-shiung Institute of Technology. During this period, the vocational education center temporarily ceased operations. In the same year, the school was approved as a teaching site of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute. In 2006, the secondary and higher vocational education programs were separated, with Chien-shiung Institute of Technology relocating to a new campus and taking over the higher vocational programs. The Jiangsu Taicang Vocational Education Center resumed operations. In March 2010, the school was renamed Jiangsu Taicang Secondary Vocational School. In 2014, it was reapproved as a teaching site of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute. In January 2025, the school was upgraded to the Taicang Branch of Jiangsu Union Technical Institute.

The school is a four-star secondary vocational school in Jiangsu Province, a high-level modern vocational school in Jiangsu Province, a pilot unit for modern apprenticeship under the Ministry of Education, a pilot unit for modern apprenticeship in Jiangsu Province, a model modern vocational school in Jiangsu Province, a construction unit for the leading plan of secondary vocational schools in Jiangsu Province, a typical secondary vocational school for the “Three-Wide Education” initiative in Jiangsu Province, and one of the first batch of comprehensive reform pilot schools for the “Three-Wide Education” initiative among secondary vocational schools in Suzhou. Over the past 30 years since its establishment, the school has made remarkable achievements. It has been honored as a National Key Secondary Vocational School, a National Advanced Collective for Moral Education in Secondary Vocational Schools, a Contemporary Characteristic School of China, a Green School of Jiangsu Province, an Advanced Unit for Vocational Education and Social Education in Jiangsu Province, a Model Base for Double Support in Jiangsu Province, a Model Unit of Grassroots Party Organizations in Primary and Secondary Schools in Jiangsu Province, an Experimental School for Curriculum Reform in Jiangsu Province, and an Advanced Collective for Educational Research in Jiangsu Province. The school has won 29 teaching achievement awards, including 5 national second prizes, 2 special prizes, 4 first prizes and 2 second prizes from Jiangsu Province, 1 special prize, 3 first prizes and 1 second prize from the Jiangsu Union Technical Institute as well as 4 special prizes, 2 first prizes and 5 second prizes from Suzhou.

学校现有全日制学生近6000人,非学历教育近5000人次/年。学校共占地371.44亩,建有东仓路和港城两个校区,东仓路校区位于城厢镇东仓南路108号,占地123.01亩,建筑面积6.51万平方米,深入对接高新区装备制造产业,服务高新区争创“十四五”国家级高新区、高质量建设娄江新城的发展目标。港城校区位于浮桥镇陆公路18号,2021年10月启用,占地248.43亩,一期已投入4.427亿元,建筑面积6.49万平方米,对接港口物贸产业布局,服务“高水平建设太仓港”战略定位。2025年1月15日港城校区二期项目工程顺利试桩,总建筑面积约10.86万平方米,总投资7.06亿元,预计2027年9月投入使用。

The school currently has nearly 6,000 full-time students and provides non-degree education to approximately 5,000 individuals annually. The school spans a total area of 371.44 acres and comprises two campuses: Dongcang Road campus and Gangcheng campus. The Dongcang Road campus, located at 108 South Dongcang Road, Chengxiang Town, covers 123.01 acres with a building area of 65,100 square meters. It is deeply integrated with the high-tech equipment manufacturing industry in the High-Tech Zone, serving the development goals of establishing the High-Tech Zone as a national-level high-tech zone during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and promoting the high-quality construction of Loujiang New Town. The Gangcheng campus, situated at 18 Lugong Road, Fuqiao Town, was inaugurated in October 2021 and spans 248.43 acres. The first phase of the campus has already invested 442.7 million yuan, with a building area of 64,900 square meters. It aligns with the logistics and trade industry layout of the port, supporting the strategic positioning of “high-level construction of Taicang Port.” On January 15, 2025, the second phase of the Gangcheng campus project successfully conducted trial pile driving. The total building area of this phase is approximately 108,600 square meters, with a total investment of 706 million yuan. It is expected to be operational by September 2027.

学校实行二级管理,设有党政办公室、教学管理处、学生工作处、后勤服务与安全保卫处、教师发展处、教育督导处、信息化与技术装备处、合作交流处8个职能部门,东仓路校区设有机械工程系、电气与汽车工程系、艺术设计系、现代服务系和单招专业部5个教学单位,港城校区设有商务教学中心、港务教学中心2个教学单位。

The school implements a two-tier management system and has established eight functional departments: the Party and Administration Office, the Academic Affairs Office, the Student Affairs Office, the Logistics Service and Security Office, the Teacher Development Office, the Educational Supervision Office, the Information Technology and Equipment Office, and the Cooperation and Exchange Office. The Dongcang Road Campus houses five teaching units: the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Automotive Engineering, the Department of Art and Design, the Department of Modern Services, and the Specialized Enrollment Department. The Gangcheng Campus comprises two teaching units: the Business Education Center and the Port Affairs Education Center.

The school has a total of 397 staff members, including 355 full-time teachers. Program Development

学校两个校区始终聚焦区域优势产业集群,优化专业设置,坚持资源共享、错位发展、优势互补的原则,服务“港产城一体化”发展战略。围绕区域“3+3”产业集群,建设好高端装备制造、艺术设计、现代文旅、现代物贸、人工智能、交通运输、智能控制、生物化工等8个专业群;建有机械设计与制造、机电设备技术、艺术设计、健身指导与管理、港口机械与智能控制、现代物流管理等五年制高等职业教育(简称五年制高职)专业16个;建有中职与本科“3+4”分段培养项目1个(与苏州工学院合作);机械加工技术等职教高考专业8个;与高职院校共建会计等"3+3"中高职衔接专业5个;建有三年制“双元制”中专专业14个,普通中专专业5个。纵向架设了“3+4”中职与本科分段培养、五年制高职、“3+3”中高职衔接、职教高考、注册入学、特色自考、成人本专科等升学途径。横向架设太仓特色学徒制“入学即招工”、普通专业市场双向选择的就业服务体系。

The two campuses of the school consistently focus on regional advantageous industrial clusters, optimize program offerings, and adhere to the principles of resource sharing, differentiated development, and complementary strengths to serve the “Port-Industry-City Integration” development strategy. Centered on the regional “3+3” industrial clusters, the school has established eight program groups: high-end equipment manufacturing, art and design, modern culture and tourism, modern logistics and trade, artificial intelligence, transportation, intelligent control, and biochemical engineering. The school offers 16 five-year higher vocational education programs (referred to as five-year higher vocational programs), including Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, Electromechanical Equipment Technology, Art Design, Fitness Guidance and Management, Port Machinery and Intelligent Control, and Modern Logistics Management. Additionally, the school has established one “3+4” segmented training program between secondary vocational education and undergraduate education (in collaboration with Suzhou Institute of Technology), eight vocational college entrance examination programs such as Mechanical Processing Technology, and five “3+3” secondary-higher vocational articulation programs, such as Accounting, in partnership with higher vocational institutions. The school also offers 14 three-year “dual-system” secondary vocational programs and five regular secondary vocational programs. Vertically, the school has established multiple pathways for further education, including the “3+4” segmented training between secondary vocational education and undergraduate education, five-year higher vocational programs, “3+3” secondary-higher vocational articulation programs, vocational college entrance examinations, enrollment through registration, specialized self-study examinations, and adult undergraduate and college programs. Horizontally, the school has established a Taicang-style apprenticeship system where “enrollment means employment” and an employment service system that allows for market-oriented two-way selection for regular programs.

The school has established stable partnerships with 281 enterprises, among which 8 have been recognized as provincial industry-education integration enterprises. It has developed 1 modern apprenticeship pilot program at the national level (Mold Design), 2 provincial pilot programs (Mechanical Engineering, CNC Technology), and 2 provincial on-site engineer training projects (CNC Technology, Mold Design). Additionally, there are 5 modern apprenticeship demonstration sites recognized by Jiangsu Union Technical Institute (CNC Technology, Art Design, Mold Design, Electromechanical Engineering, International Business) and 8 Suzhou municipal-level modern apprenticeship pilot programs (Art, Culinary Arts, Electromechanical Engineering, Business, E-commerce, Electronics, Automotive Repair, Fitness Instruction). The school has also established 6 outstanding corporate colleges in Suzhou (Haering, DAWT, Autokabel, Suimei, Chiron, iRay) and 3 high-level industrial colleges recognized by Jiangsu Union Technical Institute (Intelligent Control, Haering, Art Design). Furthermore, there are 2 “Dual-Qualified” teacher training bases in Suzhou (DAWT, Haering). The school boasts 4 provincial-level modern program clusters (CNC Technology, Art, Computer Science, Electronics), 1 high-level program cluster at the joint institute level (CNC Technology), 2 provincial high-quality programs (Art Design, Electromechanical Equipment Technology), and 2 provincial-level modern training bases (CNC Technology, Electromechanical Engineering). For three consecutive years, the school has received an “A” rating in Jiangsu Union Technical Institute’s graduate employment quantitative assessment. 国际合作

International Cooperation

学校积极引进国际先进职业教育理念、标准和资源,重点打造以中德合作为主的国际合作办学特色,先后与德国、日本、加拿大、意大利等国家和地区建立紧密合作伙伴关系,有共建培训中心、引进国际考证项目、参与国际组织项目、缔结国际友好学校等多元化的国际合作样式,与德国手工业行会(HWK)、德国工商行会(AHK)、德国上海领事馆歌德学院、奥地利WKO双元制职业教育联盟等优质教育机构、行业协会建立长期稳定的交流合作关系。现有国际合作项目15个,引入模具机械工(AHK)、精密机械工(HWK)、机电一体化(WIFI)等专业教学标准11个,德语A1/A2和J.TEST认证课程2项,国际资格证书13个,与德国ETS缔结友好学校打通学生赴德国攻读本科的通道。

The school actively introduces advanced international vocational education concepts, standards, and resources, focusing on building a distinctive international cooperation model primarily with Germany. We have established close partnerships with countries and regions including Germany, Japan, Canada, and Italy. Our diverse international collaborations include jointly building training centers, introducing international certification programs, participating in international organization projects, and establishing sister school relationships. We have also formed long-term and stable exchange and cooperation relationships with prestigious educational institutions and industry associations such as German Chamber of Skilled Crafts (HWK), German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK), the Goethe-Institut at the German Consulate General in Shanghai, and the Austrian WKO Dual Vocational Education Alliance. Currently, we have 15 international cooperation projects, have introduced 11 professional teaching standards including mold mechanic (AHK), precision mechanic (HWK), and mechatronics (WIFI), and offer 2 certification courses for German A1/A2 and J.TEST. We also provide 13 international qualification certificates. Our partnership with Germany’s ETS has established a pathway for students to pursue undergraduate studies in Germany.

The school’s localized “dual-system” education model is a prominent feature, consistently centering on the “One Leadership, Three Constructions, and One Cooperation” approach (Party building leadership, faculty team development, work-process-oriented curriculum development, teaching factory construction, and comprehensive school-enterprise cooperation). The school vigorously implements the “203002 Project” and creatively establishes a Taicang-style apprenticeship system based on localized “dual-system” education, operating under the framework of “government guidance, entity integration, contractual commitment, work-study alternation, and competency assessment.” The school has established deep collaborations with companies such as Kern-Liebers (Taicang) Co., Ltd., Mubea Automotive Components (Taicang) Co., Ltd., Schaeffler (China) Co., Ltd., Haering Precision (Taicang) Co., Ltd., Auto-Kabel Harness (Taicang) Co., Ltd., Chiron Machine Tools(Taicang) Co., Ltd., Suzhou Suimei Creative Home Co., Ltd., iRay Imaging Technology (Taicang) Co., Ltd., and Alpla (China) Technologies Co., Ltd. Together, they have built 11 “dual-system” apprenticeship training centers (factory schools), 3 “school factories”, and 43 enterprise learning islands. By creating every possible condition for students to grow in an authentic corporate atmosphere and work environment, the school has trained tens of thousands of skilled talents urgently needed by enterprises, becoming a shining example of vocational education in Suzhou and even Jiangsu Province.

学校主动服务社会,坚持学历教育与职业培训并举,实现职前教育与职后教育衔接,主动做好社会培训、社区教育等工作,成功实现了“双元制”本土化职业教育向职后教育的延伸。近年来,中国教育电视台、中国教育报、工人日报、光明日报等媒体相继报道我校“双元制”本土化实践取得的成果。《现代学徒制的“太仓样板”》案例入选《中国中等职业教育质量年度报告2018》。1项教学案例入选联合国教科文组织报告。1个案例获教育部“智慧教育示范区”优秀案例。2022年9月6日,省长许昆林一行来我校慰问教师,对学校人才培养工作给予高度肯定,省教育厅厅长在现场多次点赞。

The school actively serves society by prioritizing both degree education and vocational training, bridging pre-employment and post-employment education. It proactively engages in social training, community education and other initiatives, successfully extending the localized “dual-system” vocational education into post-employment education. In recent years, media outlets such as China Education Television, China Education Daily, Workers’ Daily, and Guangming Daily have reported on the achievements of the school’s localized “dual-system” practices. The case study “Taicang Model of Modern Apprenticeship” was included in the “Annual Report on the Quality of Chinese Secondary Vocational Education (2018)”. Additionally, one teaching case was selected for inclusion in a UNESCO report, and another case was awarded as an outstanding case under the Ministry of Education’s “Smart Education Demonstration Zone” initiative. On September 6, 2022, Governor Xu Kunlin of Jiangsu Province, along with his delegation, visited our school to extend their regards to the teaching staff. During the visit, Governor Xu highly commended the school’s efforts in talent cultivation, and the Director of the Provincial Department of Education repeatedly praised the school’s achievements.
